I first heard about the UOB Mobile Banking app from the good people at UOB. I later read about it from Nanyate, JoeTeh, LesterChan and Young Upstarts. It sounded really intriguing and I was wondering about it. The app totally slipped my mind till one day, I was surfing the App Store and was looking at Top 25 Free Apps.

By the time I downloaded it, the app has reached #1. o.O

Decided to try it out since I was an existing UOB customer.
Downloaded the app from iTunes.

Downloading the app was pretty easy. I logged in with my banking details and I could access my bank information on the go, found it way easier than having to find an ATM/log in via the com to check my balance etc. Not to worry, there is still the 2 factor authentication security factor. 🙂

UOB allows sending mobile cash, I found it very useful. Sometimes, we tend to leave our wallets at home. With this mobile app, I can transfer money to myself.
Sounds confusing? Basically I can transfer money to anyone and that person need not have a UOB account. All they’ll have to do is head over to an UOB atm and key in the code sent to their phone and they can withdraw/collect the money! Easy peasy! I like the fact that I can pay my bills on the go too!
Aside from that, with this app, I can search for UOB branches/ATMs and promotions easily.

I was at Little India the other day after NAPBAS and was searching desperately for an ATM. Found one!

Using the Augmented Reality function, I managed to find good deals near my current location!

Am really pleased with the UOB app. So far so good! Do check it out!
