One Week In Maldives – The Journey

This is a Thursday’s Travels – Anything about previous, current and future (upcoming) travel exploits entry under my Singapore Travel Blog themed blog posts! For more info about the themed blog posts, do read the entry here.

As some of you guys may know, I visited Maldives with Skai aka c(hubby) for our second ‘honeymoon’, or well our anniversary trip. (Honestly, we make up all sort of excuses just to travel)

The trip was sponsored by yours truly. Meaning laoniang paid from her own pocket. No sponsors lah dey. Only Skai got a free trip. To me, when I save money, I want to splurge on the people I love.

As a couple, we feel that we should travel when we are young and able. Read my post on why we should travel for some background info. That being said, make sure you are not broke lah. Spend within your means. I’m glad I managed to check off most of the things on my list. E.g. Wedding photoshoot, Wedding dinner, Europe Honeymoon and now, my Maldives Honeymoon!  Majority of our big purchases out of the way! Last would be our BTO, but honestly, it shouldn’t be a problem.

We splurged for this trip. I didn’t feel the pinch and honestly, it was well spent.

Cost breakdown:
Air tickets to Male via Singapore Airlines – S$1,100
Seaplane transfer – S$1,200
Watervilla – S$5,900

We managed to get a good deal via Singapore Airlines. Good service and good food.

Upon our arrival, we made our way to the counter to collect our seaplane tickets!

Do take note that if you choose to stay at a nearer resort, you’ll probably just need a ferry rather than a seaplane.

The seaplane is really very cosy and warm.

While the view was good and we got to see the many islands in Maldives, I would highly recommend that you skip it as it is very costly. Unless you bobian like us where our villa was located realllllly far away.

But honestly, choose wisely.

We soon arrived at our resort Chaaya Lagoon Hakura Huraa and was blown away by the beauty. As this entry is really picture intensive enough, I’ll save the rest of the pictures for another Thursday’s Travels entry.
