after drooling and eating many yummy potato salads, i decided to try it out for my own... aside from a glitch of using the wrong potatoes (YA LA YA LA. NEVER USE YELLOW POTATOES. GRRR), and the potato salad looking even more yellow than my colleague's egg mayonaise, and forcing my colleagues to try my potato salad...
i have gotten a thumbs up. phew! i modified the recipe i used from women's weekly.. didnt have relish at home and didnt like egg. so.. there!
nadelicious potato salad recipe! (taken and modified (to be exact removed some items lah) from women's weekly)
time taken: 30 mins. serves: 2
- 3 potatoes
- half a carrot
- 1 red onion
- 3 - 4 tbsps of Japanese mayonaise
- 2 tbsps of chopped chives
- bacon bits
- boil potatoes in water until soft, leave it to cool. peel potatoes and cut into pieces (if you're the kind who likes big big pieces like me, cut into 3-cm pieces, else cut into smaller pieces)
- dice carrot (yes raw) into 1 cm pieces and finely chop red onion
- mix potatoes, carrots, onions with mayonnaise. season with pepper, add chives and lots of bacon bits.
yummmmmmmmy! *craves potato salad now*

friday: i organised a bsc outing and we headed to pitstop for games and fun. we had a hell of a good time and we were damn loud thanks to the guys. and one very violent KOKster whacked my finger in one of the games. grrrrr. we played the 2nd edition of ticket to ride. fun! must try the 3rd one! and it was the first time that i have placed every piece down in blokus! *celebrates*
not only did the cafe have much more comfortable seats, i saw the penguin there!!!!! yes, i have been eyeing the penguin even way before i left for aussie and seeing it at pitstop just made me wanna buy it even more. so yes, i have bought it now and its sitting prettily on my desk. 🙂
saturday: went to pitstop (yes again!) with Kok and mingli. kicked kok's ass in a lotr game. MUAHAHAHAAHAAA! i tried the hokey pokey icecream (vanilla + butterscotch)... ARGH. AM ADDICTED!
in the middle of the night, a certain somebody *cough ben cough* msn-ed asking us to head to pitstop on sunday... and i called to make reservations... a certain somebody *cough kimoki cough* answered and asked me this : why are you here everyday?
sunday: we played new games and finally tried settlers of catan. yawns. overhyped game.
that concludes 3 days of pitstop nonstop. overdose man. hahahaa. but good clean fun. *winks*
but... hey.. looked what i spy with my little eye?
do you think all the pigs were exterminated? hahahahaaa.
camwhore nad! must resist going back to pitstop. addict alert. grrrrrr.
i watched the breakup today, and knowing emo me, who cries at almost all sad movies, i cried (silently) in the movie.
so when i got home, i changed my nick to: nadnutâ„¢ [the breakup left me in tears.]... immediately 10 - 12 people msn-ed me asking if everything was ok... tiger decided to get cheeky and changed his nick to:Â .:xxx:. [the breakup left nad in tears] and another friend changed his nick to: Kein [now why did the breakup leave nad in tears?]
apologies to those who thought something happened. hahahaa, just plain old nad decided to get into some cheeky fun. afterall the breakup DID left me in tears aye? 😉
aside from that, i have been
stalking watching this website for months now. so inspiring and pweety! how can you not be inspired with these kind of bento lunches! when i told my mum about it, she laughed at me. its a well known fact that i dont cook, well at least anymore after my stint in saffron (a training restaurant in tp) and home economics in secondary school.
yes, i am plain lazy to cook and infact can't remember the last time i cooked. *sheepish look*
but all this is gonna change IF i get my bento set! will cook & bring to work! save money. must save 10k by august next year! hahahaa. i am currently lusting for these two!
*cough* any kind souls wanna sponsor / tell me where to buy these in sg?
