After our stop in Amsterdam, we traveled by train to Munich. Honestly, Munich was just a stopover as our main destination was Venice!
Just for memory sake for those who were asking us for costings, here are pictures of the train to Munich.

This is our cramped room!
We took the City Night Line Sleeper Train. Because it was an overnight train, we decided to splurge for the sleeping cars. Each sleeping car can fit up to 3 bed compartments and there are two different type of “classes”. The economy, which comes with a washbasin and deluxe which will cmd with a shower & toilet.
We went for the economy compartments! Which comes with hand towels and also a mouth rinse. There were also shared washrooms which were kinda clean, acceptable lah!
Aside from the sleeping cars that I mentioned earlier, there are two other types of ‘accommodation’. The Couchettes which are simple bunks in shared 6-berth / 4-berth compartments and the ordinary seats which were basically 6 seat compartment on reclining seat cars.
It costs us SGD$782.22 for 2. Although expensive, we thought it would be safer and more comfortable to stay in a sleeping car.
In the morning, the train conductor transformed our beds into these chairs!

Oh hai! We’re in Munich! We freshened up, got a bite and rested a bit before we caught our next train to Venice! We took the train from Bahn.
This time, it wasn’t an overnight train. We got the 6 seater compartment.
Sadly, when we booked, we didn’t manage to get seats beside each other. So we sat staring at each other 😛

For those who were wondering, there are also meal trains where you can purchase light bites and drinks. Also, a place to chat and stretch your legs.
The train from Munich to Venice costed us SGD$267.91 for 2. It was an interesting experience traveling by train and I would urge everyone to try it once! It might not be the most economical choice nor the shortest time taken but it’s definitely something different! For our trip within Europe, we traveled by train all the way!
