This is a Thursday's Travels - Anything about previous, current and future (upcoming) travel exploits entry under my Travel themed blog posts! For more info about the themed blog posts, do read the entry here.

As mentioned in the last Thurday's Travels blog entry, the Hotel Leonardo Da Vinci was definitely the most interesting hotel that we stayed in. We didn't opt for 5 class hotels during our trip nor did we go budget. Instead we chose 3 star hotels in good locations. Skai aka c(hubby) and I felt that locations were more important than the beauty of the hotel.

But of course, great locations comes at an exorbitant price. We stayed an ideal location which was kinda central but yet a little bit out of the way. Our hotel stay was SGD$1156.11 for 6 nights.

Long long long walk to our hotel. About 20 minutes from the train station.

The hotel was decorated with Leonardo Da Vinci's works hence the name Hotel Leonardo Da Vinci. :p

Some pictures of the hotel room that we stayed in.

Tiny area to hang our clothes.

Our simple bathroom was clean, thankfully.

The room was pleasant unlike some of the hotels that we stayed in previously. The staff were also very friendly. We noticed that the room did not come with a kettle and we asked the staff at the front desk. She mentioned that they do not provide kettles but they'll be able to boil water for us at their cafe.

So we sat there with our kimchi cup noodles and engaged in some small talk with the friendly staff. (Don't judge us for our cup noodles! We were desperate for some spice and the kimchi noodles were HEAVENLY!)

Lovely stay in Hotel Leonardo Da Vinci though there were reviews that the traffic was quite noisy  for guests, we didn't hear a thing. Maybe cos we're sound sleepers?

We took a stroll and stumbled into a night bazaar.

Gorgeous Duomo!

We couldn't resist but to partake in a cheese and meat platter, sandwich and a few glasses of wine.

The atmosphere was amazing. People were having a picnic at the food bazaar, sampling wine, enjoying cheese and meat. It was extremely laid-back, the weather was great and everyone was just having fun. I really do miss this lifestyle.

We noticed another Duomo under reconstruction and couldn't help but take a selfie in front of this beautiful architecture. Seriously, their buildings are so beautifully made.

We soon called it a night as we were tired from the journey.

On our way back to the hotel, we spied this lovely old couple holding hands and laughing away. We looked at each other, smiled and told each other that we'll be like them. The Asian version of course.

I know that I sound like a sappy love sick fool but I really am happy to have found him. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him too. 🙂

I'll soon be blogging about Florence's other attractions in my other Thursday's Travels entries! If you have any questions, please feel free to comment in this entry!

I received the Super 10 BlackBox recently! I thought that they were really cute with their super power boxes! Say hello to SUPER 10, with all the boxes priced at $10!

Let’s take a look at my SUPER 10 box, I got Beauty Beast!

Let’s take a look at my SUPER 10 box, I got Beauty Beast!

The theme for Beauty Beast was "Believe in your instincts and who you really are. To those who said that I can't do it, well, watch me."

Here's what was in the box!

I received the:

1) Himalaya Purifying Neem Scrub 75ml

I am currently using the Himalaya Nourishing Skin Cream and I love it! Needless to say, when I saw the scrub, I was extremely excited! I tried it and love the Neem and Apricot scent. I felt really refreshed using the scrub! Also passed this to c(hubby) as it helps to exfoliate the skin and remove excess oil (which is the root cause of acne!)

2) Men Expert Hydra Energetic X-treme Moisturiser 5ml and L'Oreal Paris Expertise Charcoal Black Scrub 15ml (in the cheeky L'Oreal Protect Your Largest Organ XXL packaging)

As these are for men, I didn't use them! Passed them to c(hubby)! As it's in a convenient travel size, he'll be bringing it for our Singapore Staycations and overseas vacations!

3) Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Face Wash 12g and Hada Labo SHA Hydrating Lotion 20ml

It is actually my first time out Hada Labo products! I like how moisturing the products are as I have dry skin. I also liked that it's fragrance free and does not contain alcohol. Not drying for me at all!

4) KLARITY Lasertox CC Miracle White Lotion 5ml

I like the texture and rosehip scent of the CC Lotion. Not only does it come with SPF30 PA++, it also has that instant glow effect. It also helps with whitening!

All in all, I think the Super10 BlackBox is extremely value for money for only $10. I get a full sized product with other samples!

Super 10 - all

There are two other Super10 BlackBoxes, the Sapphire Wonder and Iron Amber! Do check out Fidel's review of the Sapphire Wonder here!

Can’t decide on which to buy? Why not get all 3, at a special price of $25!

This is a Monday's Musings - Random thoughts, feelings and musings by Yours Truly entry under my themed blog posts! For more info about the themed blog posts, do read the entry here

I think most of my Monday's Musings entries comes from real life experiences. When irked, amused, I think it makes good content for Monday's boliaoness posts.

In the past few years, I traveled to places like Korea, USA and Europe. And with traveling to such places, usually comes buying requests.

One thing I don't understand is why are there still buying requests these days. Perhaps years ago, I'll understand. Maybe online shopping wasn't that popular back then and it might be pretty hard to purchase things like Korean cosmetics online.

I personally really hate buying requests. This is why I feel so.

1. It's Troublesome.

People do not realise that when we travel, it is for our leisure, our shopping and our enjoyment. If you are giving a huge shopping list to someone, you are inconveniencing the person to look for the things you need, giving up luggage space and having to part with some of their shopping money for your convenience.  I don't see why I must go out of my way to search for other people's barang barang.

Also, if I had offered to help you buy things, then so be it. I have had people whom I'm not close to that were so thick skinned to ask me to buy things for them. A friend's friend (i.e. NOT my friend) actually asked me to help her buy stuff.

Are you seriously kidding me?

2. If you wanted a souvenir, you'll get one. Of my choice.

There are those who demand for what they would like as a souvenir.

Again, the beauty about souvenirs, is that you get what I choose for you. Not you choose your own souvenir. Again, last checked, it's a shopping trip for me. Not you. (Unless you are the mothership then you rule supreme.)

3. Lack of Luggage Space

For example, my trip to Europe. Needless to say, I bought bags for myself and my family. Those bags take up a lot of space. My trip was for 3 weeks, I had lots of my own shit in my luggages.

seriously meme

I have had people tell me 'can lah. you can make space'. Again, your convenience or mine?

4. Fickle minded fella.

For those that I actually didn't mind buying stuff for, I have had experiences where the said party couldn't decide what design they'll like.

Am I supposed to take pictures of everything, send it to you and wait for your response? Read: Different Time Zones.

If you want something, jolly well make my life easy.

5. Getting money back is just so hard. i.e. PAY ME BACK BITCH!

While this didn't happen to me, it happened to my friend recently. During her holiday, she helped one of her friends to buy for her something. Passed the item to the said person, passed her account details to that person and that person buat bodoh (act blur). After constant reminders, she finally paid after 4 months. WTF. When the girls and I heard about it, we were amazed at how thick-skinned the person was. Tsk tsk.

6. Tax Rebate's queues are mutha-parking-long

If I'm not buying anything that I'll have to claim tax rebate, I'll be damn pissed if I have to queue up for so long for you. You know that savings you get from buying stuff overseas? It's actually cost on my end. My time, my effort and my luggage space. Can I bill it to you?

I realllllly hate buying things back for people. I even had to reply people who buzzed me "Hi!!!!" when I was in Europe "If you are asking me to buy things for you, I can't."

And come on lah guys. You CAN buy your own shit online!!!!! Korea beauty products? Online! If not, there is The Face Shop, Etude House, Innisfree, Toly Moly everywhere in Singapore! Branded bags? Go Duty Free! Shopbop, Reebonz etc!

Or better still, why not go travel and buy it yourself? If you want it that bad, then go buy yourself la. Tsk.

Okay. Rant over. GRRRRRR!
