This is a Thursday's Travels Anything about previous, current and future (upcoming) travel exploits entry under my themed blog posts! My version of a Singapore Travel Blog LOL! For more info about the themed blog posts, do read the entry here.

My ex-colleague Ian had shared with us some suggestions on places to go, things to do and recommended food and snacks in Amsterdam. Much love to him!

These are some of the things we did during our trip to Amsterdam during our honeymoon aka #nadskaihoneymoon. Because this entry is going to be really photo intensive, I will be splitting this into another entry.

Before we go into our suggestions on where to go, I'll like to recommend getting the Holland Pass.

The Holland Pass costs us EUR72/Pax. The pass is actually an all-in-one city pass which covers the main places of interests and also offers an express queue for some places! For more info about the Holland Pass, I would recommend that you read about it here. Actually c(hubby) was the one who found out about the Holland Pass and researched about it!

Amsterdam is such a beautiful places and was one of our favourite stops in Europe. The people were friendly and nice, communication was easy and the food was delicious. We'll definitely head back one day!

Here are suggestions on the places to go in Amsterdam

1. Museums.

We checked out the various museums like Stedelijk museum, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum during our trip there. I LOVE museums, love looking at the beautiful paintings, sculpture and the rich history and heritage.

IMG_9456Most museums will not allow photo taking inside. We chose to respect that and only took pictures outside where it was allowed.

There are really many museums to visit and my personal favourite was the Van Goth Museum in Amsterdam. Take a look and slowly research on the preferred museums. Unless you purchase an express pass/queue ticket, most of the time you'll have to queue for quite a bit to get in.

2. Cheese Museum.

As a huge fan of cheese, I had to visit both the Cheese Factory and Cheese Museum. I felt that it was interesting to find out the various types of cheese and sampling. We even bought back some cheese to enjoy in the comforts of our hotel.

3. Amsterdam Heineken Experience

I honestly do not drink beer, the closest I drink is cider. But because c(hubby) is my Player Two, I accompanied him to the Amsterdam Heineken Experience. (and he seemed really excited about it!)

From fun rides to learning about the fermentation process to the rich history of Heineken, it was really a very interesting experience! Not only that, we had 2 glasses of beer each. For 16 Euros each, I thought that it was money well spent!

Beautiful bottles available for purchase.

We paid extra to get glasses engraved with our names. Perfect for our new place. 😉

4. Anne Frank House

IMG_9411Some of you guys may have read The Diary of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who went into hiding from the Nazis in World War 2. Tickets are at 9 Euros per person. If you've read the book, I would highly recommend you visit Anne Frank Huis.

I will be blogging about Keukenhof, Coffeeshops and various eats in my next Amsterdam post. Should you have any questions about Amsterdam, please comment here!

#nadskaihoneymoon happened this year. Due to some hoohah at work, I was extremely busy and c(hubby) has to plan for the whole honeymoon. (just as well, cos I planned the whole wedding aka #nadskai1314 hurhur).

We booked our trip very last minute honestly and our air tickets costed us S$1,373.60 each. We flew by Finn Air. Although it wasn't a direct flight and there was a stopover, the trip was pleasant and the meals were delicious. Great service rendered!

Gorgeous blue skies and beautiful tulips greeted us. We took a train from the Airport to our hotel and lugged our luggages to the hotel.

The room was simple and adequate but most importantly, it was located in a good location. We stayed at Ibis Amsterdam and our damage was SGD$1,119.83 for 4 nights.

Armed with a camera, we soon explored the streets. We took it easy, for we had allocated a couple of days in Amsterdam and wanted to take things slow.

Some protest on the streets. Needless to say, we stayed away.

Hello boys! <3

IMGP1449

Transportation was easy to get around. For us, we walked a lot however taking the trams, trains and buses were easy too! We hardly took cabs actually!

IMGP1467

C(hubby) spotted some awesome bikes and started missing riding badly.

IMG_9068

Lonely.

They had long days, so we went exploring till really late. Long days are rather useful I felt, it felt that we utilised the days really well!

Will share about Amsterdam in another Thursday's Travels entry. This entry getting way too long!

IMG_9106

While it may not be Caturday, we spotted this kitty in the Coffee Shop above! What a beauty!

What is a honeymoon without some camwhoring? 😉

IMG_9160

Travel tip: You may wanna bring over some food, like for us, we brought Instant noodles and they did come in handy. However, not every accommodation would have a kettle. So do check!

#nadootd.

Should you have any questions, please holler in this entry. No, I do not have an itinerary to send to you, because, honestly, we did not plan what to do. We only planned the trains and air tickets and winged it. Most of the times, we decided where to go on the day itself.

Sorry, but #nadskai is the spontaneous sort. We see no reason to lead such a rigid schedule especially when it's our honeymoon i.e. need to sleep in, need to be romantic (meaning no tours) and just follow our 'feelings' that day.

Will share some things to do, mainly advice given from my ex-colleague Ian who had stayed in Amsterdam. Till the next Thursday's Travel entry! 😉
