As most of you guys may know, I basically live breathe Ju Ju Be. I'm a huge fan of their diaper bags especially the Tokidoki range!
Tomorrow will be the launch of the Super Toki and Sweet Victory range from Ju Ju Be x Tokidoki and I was extremely lucky to have picked as one of the 88 VIPs from Bumper to attend their first ever Singapore Ju Ju Be Trunk Show!
USA mamas maybe familiar with the concept of Trunk Shows however we Singaporeans have never had one before!
From my own basic understanding, a trunk show is organised by a physical retailer for their shoppers/VIPs to be able to purchase the items before the official launch. Just like a sneak preview of a movie!
Who organised it and where?
Bumwear was the first ever physical retailer from Singapore to have organised it at their physical store at Plaza Singapura from 4pm - 8pm.
This was the list of items available for purchase at the trunk show. Each queue number is entitled to purchase up to 4 Super Toki / Sweet Victory items with the requirement that at least one item be a Bag. If you purchase a non-toki Ju Ju Be item, you will be able to purchase an additional ST/SV item. Maximum of 2 additional purchases are allowed.
What is considered a bag?
BRB, BFF, Be Sporty, HBB, Super Be, Be Light and Starlet.
What other fun activities were available?
Bumwear had invited two popular CLs (Custom Ladies) Petite Romance and Milistudio who shared about their custom works alongside selling some of their items. You could also check out ST and SV at one of the booths there too!
You can also take pictures at the Photo Booth with some fun props and enjoy a free cake pop from them!
It was really fun though I was disappointed that the Super Toki Minibe was wiped out when it came to my turn. Looks like I have to work hard at FFF (Fastest Fingers First) tomorrow! I love such gatherings as I get to meet my fellow Ju Ju Be Pink Ladies!
I took some pictures during the Trunk Show, hope that you enjoyed this post! Let's work hard tomorrow!!!
I'm not affiliated in anyway with Ju Ju Be or Bumwear. In fact, I spend way too much money on Ju Ju Be as I buy every single bag with my own money.
As some of you guys may remember, I talked about my love for babywearing a few entries back. Babywearing is easy and convenient. When I'm going out alone, I need not face the hassle of struggling with a stroller. Imagine taking a cab with a stroller and a baby. Holding the baby while folding the stroller and putting into the boot. Errr. I'll definitely be damn kamchiong.
Babywearing also means I get to be handsfree. I can carry Aidan easily while shopping etc. Honestly babywearing helped me so much especially during my maternity leave when I was alone.
Especially now that Aidan finds it hard to keep still in a stroller, babywearing is a must-have.
During my pregnancy, I had researched on a number of carriers. I liked the idea of woven wraps and structured carriers. After observing many of my mama friends, I realised that Tula was a favourite amongst mamas.
I bought one way before Aidan was born. That was how kiasu I was.
Fast forward and Aidan was born and I tried Tula. Honestly the first time I tried it, I wasn't so sure. I confided in a few mama friends that I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I mean, I've seen pics and videos but I wasn't sure. They brought me to Bumwear at Plaza Singapure and the lovely ladies helped me adjust my carrier. I finally found what was making me uncomfortable and from there, babywearing was a breeze with Tula.
In fact, I love Tulas so much that I bought 4. Two canvas and two woven conversions. Hurhur.
Soon I began joining the Tula community on Facebook and joining both the Jujube and Tula gatherings.
When I got wind that Bumwear was organising a gathering with Ula (founder of Tula) who was coming to Singapore, I was excited. Managed to sign up for a slot to meet Ula herself. *fangirl moment*
It was lovely meeting other mamas and exchanging tips. Also gawking at the lovely Tulas from the lovely mamas.
I also loved seeing the other fellow papas babywearing. One thing that I'm really glad is that Skai is really supportive of babywearing. He also volunteers to babywear Aidan too!
It was also nice to finally meet Rita from Bumwear who was the main reason Ula came down to Singapore!
Also spot the lovely Jujubes at the event. Tulas and Jujubes go so well together!
I was crazy enough to sign up and pay for two session to meet with Ula! The first one was a cosier session with Tula Love Stocking Buddies where I used my wc Beluga Arctic. The second was a more casual setting where I decided to dress down and use my first canvas Alpaca Hearts with my customised accessories! Spot my love dinosaur hoodie!
Babywearing days are short and I hope to babywear Aidan as much as I can. I've yet to master latching in the Tula but I hope one day I will!
It's crazy but I'm eyeing more Tulas! Like a mesh... and perhaps a fancy?! hahhaa.
None of these were sponsored. All of my Tulas and Jujubes are paid by myself. Not even by Skai. I genuinely love the products and the community.
2016 is coming to an end. Soon we will be ushering in 2017. Have you guys thought about what you've done in 2016?
For today's post, as per last year's, I'm going to "throwback" major events (good and bad) in my life in 2016! Here are my 4 Major Things That Happened To Me in 2016!
1. Had such a nasty renovation nightmare.
For those who know, we had such a huge reno nightmare that dragged over 17 weeks. Lesson learnt: Some friends can't be trusted. Especially if they tell you that they don't need to have your quotation in full details. We trusted a supposed friend who basically was a bastard thru and thru. Lies were spun. But because we didn't want to be calculative and asked for everything to be in details (like he told us can trust him with his quotation that did not have measurements), we really had to pay a huge price. Basically trusting him means we have no evidence to prove what he said. After everything, we found out how a few other friends were also screwed over. Oh well, huge lesson learnt!
Karma will bite the asshole in the ass. By the way, quality renovation my ass. Our shower screen shattered in less than 6 months, show cabinet laminate bubbled, painting cracked. If you do need a recommendation for a nightmare renovation with bad quality, let me know. I can point you in the right direction. Terrible Killer Hawrible experience indeed.
2. Finally moved into #nadskaihome after Chinese New Year.
After all the nonsense, we finally moved in after Chinese New Year. We only managed to keep the place clean and well, Pinterest worthy till Aidan was born. After baby, the place is a huge nightmare. OH MY TIAN.
We love having a place of our own. Cooking, watching movies, enjoying time together. While Punggol does need time getting used to, I have begun to love this ulu place. Only wished that my bff was staying closer to me so that I could see her as often as we were staying at our parents' place!
3. Got sucked into the cult of Tula and Ju Ju Be.
Being a mother opens up a huge world of shopping. Babywearing and diaper bags are like my life now. It's crazy. Mad crazy. It's easy to get so addicted coupled with the fact that I'm such a huge Tokidoki lover in the first place, I'm totally suckered. Needless to say, had to drag a few good friends down with me. Hurhur.
4. Never knew that I had so much love to give.
While having a gremlin child was never in my plans, I guess it's different once it's yours. (Gosh, I sound so hypocritical). It's more forgivable when it's yours I guess? HAHAHA. I love watching Aidan grow. I gape in wonder at his milestones. I smile and coo when he does the silliest things. My heart feels like it's going to burst whenever I wake up to his smiles. Needless to say, I worry too. I guess like my gynae mentioned, you'll never stop worrying as a parent.
That's the 4 Major Things That Happened to Me in 2016. How was yours? I'm looking forward to 2016! Hope FINALLY we can get our home ready!
I would love to thank everyone for being supportive of www.nadnut.com. You've followed my journey from the frivolous camwhoring days to getting engaged to losing weight to planning for my wedding to my honeymoon exploits to getting pregnant to giving birth and now having Aidan! I have never regretted blogging as I loved sharing my experiences. It's more of a Nadia's Lifestyle Blog rather than a Singapore Lifestyle Blog. LOL.
