this song and listen (lyrics below) totally blew me away.. i caught dreamgirls in bangkok with tiger.
it was an interesting experience watching a movie in bangkok. firstly the commercials went on and on…. for like 30 mins? yawns…
secondly, they played the national anthem. o.O yeap they did. gave me a shock when everyone stood at attention and even the angmoh couple infront of us stood up. and there i was sitted down, folded legs and all… tiger and i scrambled and stood up too.
lol. i knew they respect their king a lot but not to the point of playing the anthem in cinemas. o.O
i really enjoyed the movie a lot. was blown away by eddie’s acting (for once, he aint a comedian!), beyonce’s beauty and jennifer’s powerful vocals.
i read that beyonce lost 9kg for this role and jennifer gained 9kg. o.O. i could feel her pain when she sang the above song. same goes for beyonce for the ‘listen’ song.
i cant stop raving about eddie’s role in the show. though he still had that insane grin in the show, i really enjoyed his singing and crazy antics in the show. it was quite sad to see him give up on himself. 🙁
i didnt expect jennifer to have such powerful vocals. erm, she was quite forgetable in american idol but in the movie… woah! powerful vocalssssssssssssssssssssssssss and her signature pout. lol. and beyonce just looked great in every part of the movie. though a tad too skinny. what happened to her curvaceous ass?
overall, an extremely good experience. i’ll give it 4.5 popcorns. 🙂 do listen to the soundtrack especially listen and and i am telling you. 🙂
