I was invited by the kind folks from FoodNews for a food tasting session at Marmalade Pantry at the Stables. I could bring a +1 so I brought BFF along!

As it was rather late when I reached the place, the lighting wasn’t optimal and I couldn’t capture the beauty of the place. Thankfully, the kind folks at FoodNews had took some pictures before hand.

I think it’s really a nice place to chill out at. The only downside is the location. It’s best to drive there as getting a cab in and out may be a bit pricey for one’s pocket.

If you do not drive, there’s always the Marmalade Pantry branch in ION Orchard to consider šŸ˜‰

Here are some of the items I tried.

Mexican Chicken SaladĀ ($22) was served with crispy tortilla, avocado, spiced corn and salsa. A very refreshing starter. It’s a huge portion and honestly, can pass off as a main dish.

Pan Seared Haloumi ($21). This lovely watercress herb salad is served with roma tomatoes and…. Haloumi cheese! Everyone thought it was taukwa at first! A very delish starter suitable for the very hot, humid days!

Crispy Pork Belly ($32) wasn’t fatty enough for my liking. I’m the kind that if i’m going to eat fats, gimme the REAL fats, not the lean version šŸ™ Although it’s much healthier, I’m sure true blue pork belly lovers like me will be very disappointed in this dish.

SteakĀ andĀ EggsĀ ($38) is a pretty straightforward dish. It’s steak and eggs! The only surprise was the truffle peas. Peas honestly isn’t my fave vegetables but mixed up with the truffle oil, it was pretty bearable.

We tried a couple of desserts but I’ll just introduce my favourites. šŸ™‚

No words can describe the Lemon Brulee Tart ($14). All I have to say is ORDER IT. You will not regret it. EXTREMELY SHIOKADOOOOO!

I can understand why people travel so far just to have their fix of the Sticky Date and Toffee Pudding ($12). I’m bias lah. Anything with Vanilla Bean ice cream is damn good to me. The Sticky Date Pudding just melts in your mouth! (but the lemon brulee tart is still better :p)

The Elvis and Limonata cupcakes (S$4.50) were really good. The Elvis cupcake is a combination of peanut butter and chocolate while the Limonata had a very zesty taste with it’s lemon flavour.

But if you only have space for one dessert, go for the Lemon Brulee Tart.

If youā€™ll like to check out the place, here are the details.
