Jacelyn’s birthday celebration!

Monday, February 28th, 2011

The girls and Boss (Jace’s act shy but actually not so shy bf) planned a birthday celebration for Jacelyn.

What happened was that, Boss private messaged me on Facebook and asked to exchange contacts and discuss about the celebration. I asked Boss to even delete his sent and received messages on Facebook because I was scared he would kinda spoil the surprise like how I nearly spoilt Ching Chong Boy’s surprise because of my own foolishness. Bah.

Since Boss had a Blackberry, we discussed on BBM instead and I roped fellow Blackberry user Esther in! heh!

The plan was supposed to meet at 7pm at Ma Maison at the Central. Boss was supposed to just go paktor with Jace and we would have our own plans. We girls would “standby” at Ma Maison and surprise the birthday girl!

(Because it wasn’t her exact birthday, Jace didn’t guess anything! :p)

I’m practically ancient now.

Singapore Lifestyle Blog, nadnut

It’s that time of the year again. The year where I turn another year older, another year closer to the grave and a day where I start evaluating my life.

I stared at the computer for a good 30 minutes and yet I did not know what to write. Infact, this year, I was really not looking forward to my birthday.

For some reason, I get really emo during my birthday. I see birthdays as a day to “celebrate” another year closer to the grave. It feels as if the years pass by really way too fast. Soon, I’ll have one foot in the grave.

As per my yearly tradition, it’s time to summarise my life into one post to see where I’ve failed and where I’ve succeeded.

Studies: NADA. Completed last year. Doubt I’ll be studying for my Masters anytime soon. Yet to finish paying off the study loans. By end of this year, I would be done. Thank God.

Work: As mentioned last year, I was working with a PR Agency, Grayling to be exact. Afterwhich, I was approached and had an offer by a Social Media company, pepperconn which I couldn’t resist. It was a great experience and steep learning curve with pepperconn. I really did enjoy working with two great bosses, Adrian and Janet. Sad to say, I’ve resigned from pepperconn. It just wasn’t a suuitable jobfit. :( New updates would come soon I guess :)

Family: Same old, same old. There are good times, there are bad times but thankfully the good times outnumber the bad times. :)

Love: It’s been close to two years with Ching Chong Boy. Still very much in the honeymoon stage but there has been some issues that we have yet to iron out. Whether we’ll work out? Time will tell.

Health: I fell really sick last year and it was really the most miserable time of my life. I completed a few more 10km runs last year and I really hope to be able to get a proper timing soon. Will need to stop procrastinating!

Friends: There were some friends who were really a disappointment. Decided it isn’t worth it getting aggravated by them anymore and decided to write them off. Those who mattered stayed and made effort. Am thankful and glad for those who did. For those who didn’t, goodbye and good riddance.

Blogging: I’ve made many great friends from blogging and have never regretted the day I started a blog. It has brought me a great number of opportunities and I’m thankful for that.

Others: After much perserverance, yours truly has finally gotten her driving license. Yes, it’s a manual driving license! Yee hah! I’ve also gotten my (Basic) Open Water Dive Cert. Advanced soon!

Thanks to everyone and anyone who has wished me a very happy birthday. As mentioned every year: birthdays just symbolises another year closer to the grave (to me). So love like you have never loved before, eat like you have never eaten before, live life like every day is your last.

Much love,
nadnut

The Quarter Life Crisis.

Sunday, February 8th, 2009

It’s that time of the year again and surprisingly this year, I really do not relish turning the big 2-5.

I had actually wanted to hold birthday parties this year to “celebrate” the quarter life crisis like clubbing at St James or even a MacDees party but somehow or rather, the “happy” mood just fizzled.

As per my yearly tradition, here’s some updates of what has happened within my 1 year of being 2 dozens worth of nadnuts.

I feel kinda loserly being 25 because I have no job, no boyfriend and no degree (yet). WTF.

Studies:

I should be able to get that piece of paper soon, graduation ceremony would be in October should I pass all of my exams.

Work:

I left AsiaSoft, tried a stint in SingTel doing Corp Comms and left. Does Starblogging consider as a job? After SingTel, I decided to take a break and just study full time. After I’m done with my degree, I’m gonna start searching for a job. To be honest, I do not regret taking some time off,  just that it’s a horrible year to graduate and start searching for a job. Oh well.

Family:

Same old. Same neurotic family. I lost my oldest cat last year and it was heartbreaking.

Love:

This may come as a shock to some of you. Tiger and I parted ways very early this year.  It was a hard decision to make but it has to come sooner or later. Some of my friends were taking bets that we will “patch” (i hate that word!) back together sooner or later. I really do not know. Maybe yes, maybe we’ll just be friends forever.

Health:

I’m proud to say I actually took up a gym membership! I even paid for sessions with a physical trainer! It was fun and good. Am itching to head back to the gym after my exams! After exercising, I feel healthier, there has been less cases of me falling sick. :)

Friends:

Removed some toxic friends. I don’t see a need keeping such friends that are insensitive and intent in aggravating you and everyone else. The friends that matter are still there and a heartbeat away. Thank you.

Blogging:

I’ve made many friends from blogging and it has been a great experience so far. Thankfully I make some money from this blog which helps to keep me afloat during this bummer/slacker year I took.

It’s kinda scary being 25 and yet accomplishing nothing much. If things had been different, I would have gotten my degree, engaged or planning to get married and drawing some income. But I make my own decisions and stick with it. I believe everything happens for a reason.

Thanks to everyone and anyone who has wished me a very happy birthday. :) As mentioned last year: birthdays just symbolises another year closer to the grave (to me). so love like you have never loved before, eat like you have never eaten before, live life like every day is your last.

Much love,
nadnut

(Eh My birthday, I get to act chio a bit right?, yes, I use the word ACT. :P )

Happy Birthday Jayden!

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

My very talented other half has just turned 21 today! We had a fantastic bash on Saturday and here are some sneak peeks!

The theme was flamboyant colours and that made the pics all look so cheery and fun!

Oh no.. What were 6 bloggers in bed doing?

I’m afraid I can only blog about his birthday later… Books await now!

Now, do head over to Jayden’s blog to wish him a very happy birthday!

P/s- I tweaked the colours of the pics, making it look more vibrant, is it a tad overdone?
