Remember the previous entry where we made Happy Flags?

Who says that Dating In Singapore is boring? The last time, I found out that National Library Board was organising Pop Up Craft Parties (which were organised by In Merry Motion!) and I dragged Skai aka c(hubby) down to Bedok Library to do the Happy Flags!

This time, I found out that the final Pop Up Craft Party was at the National Library and they will be conducting String Art!

Needless to say, I was extremely excited for String Art! It looked good and it was honestly quite mafan to do at home, so to be able to craft at a workshop where all tools were provided, sounded awesome!

As it was limited to only a certain number, yours truly behaved in a true blue Singaporean way by coming down early and queuing.

We chose from 5 templates available, I chose heart while he chose travel! First we had to trace the template and then later knock in nails! Skai did a better job than me with the hammer and nails. Guess he really did nailed it. :p

After that, we used wool to wind it around the nails. Funnily, Skai had a hard time here. He actually said 'I can't do this! There is no system to this!'.

Engineers :p

I took over this part to his relief. This was actually the best and most fun part to me!

We really enjoyed ourselves! Am also keen to try out other crafty stuff! I'm looking at trying out floral arrangement and calligraphy too! Do comment if you know of any other workshops!

We are also looking at doing more stuff as a couple together. I think it's really fun and different! Also helps us grow and understand each other more! If you do know of other fun activities, do comment here! After all, I don't believe Dating in Singapore is boring!

It'll also be fun for us to create some stuff for our future home next year. Home decor perhaps? 😉

This is a Foodie Fridays - TGIF! It's time to get fat on Fridays! entry under my themed blog posts! For more info about this Singapore Food themed blog posts, do read the entry here.

My BBF (Best Booby Friend) Fidelis and I have been talking about baking, cooking and doing some diy stuff together for ages! We went for the Chocolate Masterclass recently but the last time we had a session was the tragic baking incident during Easter like 3 years ago? On a side note, Fidel and I will be neighbours in future! Well, not the next block or something but we'll be fellow Punggolians! (yes, I'm calling people who stay in Punggol that. :p)

We finally managed to fix a date and I visited Fidel's place to make lollipops! We used the recipe from Sprinkle Bakes but we adapted it as we didn't use flowers.

Who says that Dating In Singapore is boring? I found out that National Library Board was organising Pop Up Craft Parties (which were organised by In Merry Motion!) and I dragged Skai aka c(hubby) aka ching chong boy :p to go down. After all it was organised at Bedok Library which was super near to my place!

I was quite sad that I missed the first workshop! We had fun in this free workshop (totally not sponsored whatsoever to say this!) and we made our own Happy Flags! You can place whatever message you want on your flag! We decided to put motivational and happy messages! Skai did Everything Is Awesome, inspired by the recent LEGO movie then and I used Always And Forever, inspired by The Originals. Also, cos our wedding was #nadskai1314 aka nadskai forever!

We traced the flags according to the shapes we wanted, traced the words out on the respective glitter boards or fabrics and placed them on the flag!

It was fun and very easy! Am super inspired to get crafty! #nadskai participated in another workshop and we'll post up the pictures soon! Any other fun crafty workshops? I made lollipops with Fidelis recently, will post about that soon!

Am keen to try out floral arrangement and calligraphy too! Do comment if you know of any other workshops!

This is a Tips on Tuesdays - nadnut pretends to act knowledgable and impart some tips. entry under my themed blog posts! For more info about the themed blog posts, do read the entry here.

(Pic source from: Buzzfeed)

You've probably seen this around a couple of times but have no idea what was going on. You've been to cafes where they placed probably a lemon, cucumbers or even strawberries in their water and you thought it was interesting and didn't think much about it.

But actually those places have been doing it right all along!

Disclaimer: Okay, to be honest, I don't know how legit these sources are but they sound right to me. Apparently fruit-infused water helps for weight loss, detoxes the body and flushes out toxins.

Personally to me, I drink it cos it gives a bit of a kick to boring plain water and it does taste refreshing!

I read from Buzzfeed, a few different suggestions of how to jazz up your water!

1. Strawberry, Lemon and Basil.

2. Orange and Blueberry.

3. Watermelon and Mint

4. Citrus and Cucumber

5. Strawberry, Lime and Cucumber

6. Citrus and Cilantro

7. Rosemary and Grapefruit

8. Raspberry, Rose Petal and Vanilla. (Very interesting combi!)

9. Blueberry and Lavender

10. Cantaloupe Agua Fresca with Honey and Mint

11. Kiwi and Cucumber Agua Fresca

12. Honeydew & Raspberry Agua Fresca

13. Watermelon Coconut Agua Fresca

14. Champagne Mango and Lime

For more information on those recipes above, do check out the Buzzfeed article here.

So basically, some tips here!

1. Be adventurous. To me, there are no hard and fast rules. I just dump whatever fruits that I have that day into my water!
2. Use lots of ice. I love my water ICY cold and I feel that it tastes much better!
3. Muddle it. Some of the fruits and/or herbs taste best when muddled. Usually I'll use a spoon and press down a bit for it to release their 'flavour'.
4. Put it in the fridge. I personally would leave it in the fridge for about an hour for the infusion to take place. Let it "marinate" for a while.
5. Remove the skin. The first time, I didn't remove the skin. I would encourage you to remove it to prevent that bitter taste from the peels.
6. Have fun! If it doesn't work out, don't give up, try a different concoction!

This is my ex-colleague's and my concoction! We used lemon and oranges! I loved the concoction, it was extremely zesty! I think this is a good way to get people who hardly drink plain water (You'll be surprised to find out that there are a LOT of people like that!) to well, drink plain water!

Pro tip! I learnt this from my ex-colleague Christine! Frozen grapes ARE FREAKING AWESOME! Such a yummy snack! Try it!

Do you have other interesting recipes for fruit-infused water? Or any fun ways of incorporating fruits in your diet? Do comment here pls! I'll love to find out more!
