Ushering the Year of the Horse with Crowne Plaza Changi Airport!

I was invited by the lovely Carrie from Crowne Plaza Changi Airport for a CNY food tasting at Azur. It was the second time I visited Azur for a CNY meal and as always, it has been a great pleasure dining at Azur.

The dishes we sampled were part of the CNY festive menu aside from the usual items such as Seafood, Local dishes, Pastries and Desserts. Extremely value for me, I must say!

We sampled the Crowne Plaza’s Prosperity Yusheng. There are 4 different types of Yusheng: Salmon, Wolf Herring, Sliced Abalone and Vegetarian. There will be a Yusheng station serving free flow sliced salmon! *slurps*

If you’ll like to have the Yusheng, simply inform the chef of the number of pax and they will portion the Yusheng accordingly. Best part? It’s not chargeable and is part of the buffet! They also sell takeaways for Yusheng takeaways and can be ordered via the Lobby Lounge.

Other noteworthy dishes that we sampled were the:

Smoked Duck with Citrus Fruit & Lychee. This is a cold dish which served as an appetizer. I like the unique blend with fruits, it felt really refreshing!

I was also a huge fan of the Fortune Pig Trotter with Dried Oyster and Black Moss. I love my pig trotters and this dish warmed (and probably slowly started killing) my heart.

I thought that the Fried Rice with Eight Treasures was really unique! They had Gingko Nuts, Lotus, Prawns, Ham, Edamame, Waxed Pork Belly, Carrots and Eggs in it!

Both the Osmanthus Creme Brulee with Seasonal Berries and Cherry Clafoutis with Vanilla Sauce was a huge favourite for me. I liked that the Creme Brulee had an oriental touch on it with the Osmanthus Flower while the Cherry Clafoutis was definitely a better alternative to the boring old bread and butter pudding.
