Sunday, August 14th, 2011

Remember my previous entry?

Here’s the first “experiment”. During lunch time, my colleagues and I assembled in our little pantry area to “cook”.

With pretty peipei!

We had wanted to make all 3 boxes but in the end, we only managed to make 1! We underestimated the time taken to “cook”!

In the end, we only managed to make the sushi one. Unboxing pictures here!

Kracie’s Poppin’ Cooking!

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

I first stumbled onto these videos from dear Jacelyn’s blog.

Konapun looked so adorbs! Only thing was… they weren’t edible. :( After a bit more research and searching, I found out about Kracie’s Poppin’ Cooking and joyfully shared the news with Jacelyn and also my friends Emma and PeiPei! On one day, while Ching Chong Boy and I were paktoring, we found a shop selling Kracie Poppin’ Cooking!

I had immediately posted the pic up on my Facebook and Twitter and a barrage of comments came in! I bought one back then as…. the boy wouldn’t understand why I would spend so much on candy. T_T

But later on.. found out that my friends went to buy too, I “tompang” with them :X

Here’s my current collection!

Christmas with Ching Chong Boy.

Tuesday, January 25th, 2011

Remember the Outfit of the day Xmas post? Here’s wat happened that day!

For Christmas, usually the boy and I will take turns planning. One person would plan and the other would buy gifts.

Last year he planned and I bought gifts, thus for this year, I would do the planning and he would buy the gifts!

After hearing the reviews of Dozo from Jacelyn, Fidel and Esther, I decided to make reservations at Dozo!

Ching Chong Boy came to pick me up! He kept asking where we were headed to. And when he gave me my present, I accidentally said “why not give me at Dozo?” then he said “Oh! We are going Dozo ah?”

-_____-”

Dozo wasn’t too hard to locate.

This was how I spent my Sunday…

Monday, November 29th, 2010

Spent some time with my good friends.

First up!

Outfit of the day: White frilly tanktop from Bangkok, belt and pink shorts from TheBlogShop and jellies (not seen in this pic) from Novo.

Had lunch with my ex-colleagues from Grayling. Missed them so much! Kenny treated us to lunch at Ma Maison. We were supposed to have lunch at Food for Thought originally but it was closed. Oops.

Stuff we ordered.

Gratin was really yummy. Not too jelak!

The set lunch was really delish. Consisted of a hamburger steak, pasta and omu rice! Shiokkers!

The beef stroganoff rice was so-so. The omu rice with the set lunch was tastier actually. Trhe beef was a bit too tough for my liking.

Surprisingly the Seafood Paella wasn’t very yummy. I remember the last time I went to Ma Maison with Jaywalk, it was really good!

Way too much food for the 4 of us!

Can you guess what is this for?

It’s actually the bill! Cool isn’t it?

Pics with them!

Next outing, let’s go for steamboat?

After that, I met Jacelyn for a movie. We then went Sakae Sushi for dinner because I was craving for the Kani Chawanmushi!

The usual stuff I always order:

Salmon sushi

Hot green tea.

Fried tofu.

Cha soba.

Kani chawanmushi. <3

Kani tempura…

Jacelyn is very adventurous to me. LOL. I always order the same old same old! She ordered the Tempura cheese and Mango Salmon

After dinner, us gluttons went to A dessert story for well… desserts!

I was very disappointed when Slice at FEP closed down but thankfully managed to find Desert Story! I love shaved ice. Damn shiok to eat! Beats ice kachang hands down imho.

Yes, this creature of habit ordered Mango. I ALWAYS order Mango. LOL. (random: i love how chio my blackberry looks here. *flips hair*. Am wondering what skin I should use next, any recommendations?)

She ordered the Mocha.

This concluded my very gluttony Sunday. Ate ate ate nonstop! Need to exercise more instead! Next Sunday! Stanchart 10km run!

How didja spend your Sunday? Do share!

Sakae Sushi’s latest items!

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Went Sakae Sushi recently and found out that they have launched a few new items! Are you a fan of Japanese food?

Surprisingly I enjoyed the Soft Shell Crab Salad. Why do I say surprisingly? That’s because I usually do not enjoy Soft Shell Crab. Find it a bit weird tasting. I guess coupled with the salad, it tasted well! I know ching chong boy would love this!

This crane lookalike item (Ebi Arare) was a crunchy delight! It’s actually covered by rice crackers instead of your usual roe, seaweed etc. I scrapped off most of the sauce though as it was a bit overwhelming for me.

The Mushroom Kimochi Tofu was weird to me. The sauce was tangy but it gave a “siap siap” feeling. I like my normal agedashi tofu thankewverymuch.

The Maguro Carpaccio was really yummy and it was one of my favourite items. The thinly sliced tuna was dressed with a special sauce which was neither too creamy nor too jelak. It was the right amount of sauce.

Ah hah! The sushi platter! Labelled for your easy reference here!

My comments for each individual sushi:

The Salmon Mayo Mentai Inari was not my thing. I for one, do not like items with too much sauce. This one had a lot of sauce! Way too creamy and jelak!

The Aburi Salmon  Teriyaki was simple. Nothing spectacular but you can’t go wrong with it.

Honestly the Unagi Shitake Gunkan was more shitake than unagi. I hardly tasted the unagi! Despite that, it was really tasty!

The Hotate Mentai  Maki was good. Obviously I scrapped off most of the sauce. I’m in love with the hotate dishes here! The Hotate Sushi was also good but tastewise, I prefer the Mentai Maki.

The Unagi Cracker Maki was similiar to the Hotate Mentai Maki just that it was unagi (like duh?). Thumbs up!

And my favourite item was the Sakae Candle! As you can see from the above picture, it was lighted up! Really cute and I thought Sakae Sushi was clever to have thought of that. Will we see birthday parties in Sakae Sushi now?

nadnut’s rating on the new items:

A few hits and misses but overall am loving the new items!

4 days of celebration – Buffet dinner at Kuishinbo

Monday, November 1st, 2010

Please refer to these posts before reading this. (else you no head no tail wor!).

4 days of celebration – The pre-celebration
4 days of celebration – Kidnapped to Wanderlust
4 days of celebration – Wagyu Steak at Pan Pac
4 days of celebration – Surprise party at St James
4 days of celebration – Breakfast at Cocotte

The next day was actually Ching Chong Boy’s actual birthday.

He picked me up from my place and we were off to Kushinbo!

I’ve heard about Kuishinbo for ages but haven’t been there! Do you guys still remember the rather irritating TV commercial they had?

Don don don 1-2-3, we are Kuishinbo! or something like that?

Basically Kuishinbo serves a variety of items from Sashimi to Teppanyaki to Hotpot to Desserts.

Here’s some of the items we ordered.

My favourite would have to be the..

Crabs!

I don’t usually eat crabs because I find it such a hassle but the crabs here were so easy to “deshell” and really juicy!

Damage by yours truly!

All in all, we enjoyed ourselves but found the pricing of the buffet a tad expensive. Not really value for money for us though. :/

Ah well.

Glad that he enjoyed himself!

Ending this entry with an outfit of the day!

Dress found in a tiny shop in Harbourfront, shoes from Bkk and bag from theblogshop!

One last entry for the 4 days of celebration posts! Coming soon!

Pictures were taken with the G11.

Daintyflair’s secret outing!

Wednesday, October 27th, 2010

Singapore Lifestyle Blog, nadnut, mysterymakan, mystery makan

As mentioned in the previous post, we girls now plan for surprise outing. And after my turn was Jacelyn’s aka Daintyflair!

She brought us to…

Nanjya Monjya!

It’s basically a teppanyaki place but what makes this place so special is that they will cook it for you. Or well, you can cook it yourself if you like!

Some of the dishes that we tried… Truth to be told, I can’t remember the names but I remembered that I liked everything aside from the tofu!

We shared those dishes and surprisingly the bill was only $20/pax. Pretty affordable!

Really enjoyed myself but felt we didn’t order enough. Ching Chong Boy and I will be going back soon. Really shiokadoos! Just take note that you’ll smell a bit after going there. Teppanyaki mah. :p

Some pics with the girls!

It was supposed to be a maxi outing but Jacelyn forgot!

The sweet couple!

Outfit of the day: Baby Blues

[Advertorial]

Recently went to Sakae Sushi with the ching chong boy.

Outfit of the day!

Light blue halter dress from the blog shop, belt from FEP, white tank from Forever21 and shoes from mondo.

And this soft and pwetty grey bag from the blog shop!

The boy and I decided to try the Spicy theme for this month at Sakae Sushi.

Ordered our fave chawanmushi, tofu, salmon sushi and his spider handroll.

We tried the Spicy Curry Yaki and the Spicy Tai Cheese Roll.

I really didn’t like the yaki. Was just a weird combi for me. Ate one bite and I couldn’t eat anymore but the boy loved it. He polished it off!

I quite liked the Spicy Tai Cheese Roll. Very fushionish! Would have preferred if it was Salmon though!

The satisfied bf in the River Island top I got for him. I think the colour really suits him!

We forgot to take a pic together. Doh!
