Earlier part of the year, before Aidan turned 1, I brought Aidan to Genting together with Skai and other bloggers courtesy of the kind folks from Resorts World Genting.

This was our first family trip overseas. Were we mad to even consider taking a long ride up for our first trip overseas?!

Untitled

It turned out better than expected! I'll be sharing on my experience and some key highlights of Genting that were our favourite!

Taking a coach is not as bad as it seems.

Untitled

Long trip with a screaming kid? Luckily for us, Aidan slept pretty the majority of the bus ride to Genting however he did cry and whine a bit during our trip back to Singapore. Luckily, we had very patient fellow bus passengers who luckily brought their earphones.

PHEW. Disaster averted!

Tips: We brought our trusty Tula baby carrier and carried Aidan inside. He slept soundly inside when he was tired. However during the times where he got restless, he wanted to get out. Bring some snacks and toys to help distract your kids' attention from a very long and boring ride.

Breastfeeding rocks

Untitled

HAHAHA. No need for formula or what nots. We did prepare some food for Aidan and most of the places we ate at had some baby-friendly food so food for Aidan was pretty much covered.

Accommodation

We stayed at First Hotel Hotel and Awana Hotel. For both hotels, we requested for a baby cot for Aidan. We also bathed Aidan standing up. I know some parents prefer using a baby bathtub, I believe Qoo10 sells those portable baby bath tubs that you can consider buying!

Lots of good food!!!!

Unfortunately for me, yours truly has never been to London. I have heard so much about Burger & Lobster so when I heard that they opened in Genting, needless to say I was BEYOND excited!

Untitled

Untitled

It didn't disappoint for me. The chilli crab lobster was my favourite! Muslim readers would be glad to know that B&L in Genting is Halal!

Untitled

Skai really enjoyed Motorino especially the fact that they had a huge variety of pizzas!

Untitled

We also stopped by Cafes Richard for high tea and was wow-ed by their selection of snacks and drinks as one of France’s top roaster provides a classy Parisian-style atmosphere where customers can enjoy original coffees prepared in a variety of slow coffee methods.

Other must-dos

Untitled

We enjoyed a  ride on the new Awana SkyWay in a glass-floor gondola which haves us a great view of the 130-million-year-old rainforest below.

Overall, a great experience! We'll definitely be back to Genting as a fan! <3

I changed. Or at least, I think I've changed.

Birthdays used to be a big thing for me. I love celebrating my birthday. I love celebrating my partner's birthday. As superficial as it sounds, I love being pampered.

When I first started dating Skai, we celebrated every single birthday. Celebrations could range from an extravagant day out to a comfortable and relaxing staycation to a very indulgent meal.

A typical celebration would be a staycation or a good buffet/steak dinner. Sometimes we go for holidays but it's pretty hard to do so for my birthday as it's always close to CNY or Valentine's day i.e. overpriced air tickets.

Last year, we celebrated with a home cooked meal by Skai as I was heavily pregnant. It wasn't the easiest pregnancy by then so I tried to stay home as much as possible.

This year, Skai asked what I wanted to do.

Instead of celebrating me, I wanted to celebrate Aidan. I requested a shoot for Aidan on my birthday. I think Skai was pretty surprised by my request but he agreed.

And so we did! Hello family tees! And a grumpy and chubby Aidan back then.

And it was super fun! Take a look at the final pictures here!

Though we did enjoy some couple time when Aidan was asleep heh.

Untitled

But the best time was when he was awake.

I guess, I didn't need any birthday celebrations because Aidan is the best birthday present ever.

But of course, beef comes a close second. Heh. 😉

Time passed by way too fast! Aidan is now 15 months going 16 months old! His milestones has not differed much but here's a brief recap!

  • He is extremely curious! He loves touching every single item and also walking around to look at things. He also points at things and looks at us!
  • He hasn't learn much words however he likes to babble a lot. It is so adorable when he does so!
  • He still loves to walk! It's tough babywearing or carrying him now as he wants to explore things.
  • He is much stronger than me when it comes to injections. He has his chicken pox vaccination and didn't make a single sound when they jabbed him.
  • He is very helpful now! Sometimes we will point at things and ask him to take it to us and he does!
  • He is now very clingy and loves to cuddle me out of the blue!
  • When we tell him to find papa/mama, he really does so!
  • He still loves to ransack things like digging out things from boxes and throwing them around.
  • He still loves to latch! Although I tried introducing fresh milk to him recently, he rather latch than drink it. I believe it's a comfort thing haha.
  • He is extremely friendly and loves making friends from kiddos to adults.

Honestly I love this stage with him. It is so fun interacting with him and i love how manja he is! He is especially very clingy to me rather than Skai at this stage. I know that most kids take turns being close to one parent, so I'm just enjoying this stage! hehehehehe.

As some of you guys may know, I pretty much live breathe Jujube! And with every Jujube Tokidoki launch, I go gaga.

The recent Sea Punk collection was no exception! I have decided to do a series where I will share about each and every Jujube style.

For today's post, I will be sharing about the BFF which is one of Jujube's hottest item: The Jujube Sea Punk BFF.

The BFF is a very versatile bag from Jujube. It could be worn backpack style or messenger style. Here's how I pack the Jujube BFF for a day out!

Untitled

I usually use a variety of items to pack my bag. Here I use the large Be Organised set, a Be Quick, two small Set pieces and a medium Set piece.

Untitled

  • For my Space Place medium set piece, I usually pack with toys to keep Aidan occupied. I have a rattle, a toy trumpet and a lil car for him.
  • In the Quick, I pack stuff for his meals e.g. Cutleries from BBox, a Space Place Be Neat and a change of clothes incase things get messy.
  • In the Large Be Organised, I pack diapers and wet wipes from Nateen.
  • For the Ukk2 small set piece, I pack puffs and snacks in a small container for him.
  • For the Out to Sea small set piece, I pack stuff for me, like tissue paper, lip balm etc.
  • I also bring along a water bottle which I use the BFF bottle pockets to store.

The BFF is big enough for a day out. I usually bring bigger backpacks like the BFF and BRB for longer days while I would use a Hobobe or Be Sporty for shorter days out.

Here are some pics of the Jujube Sea Punk BFF!

The room was comfortably furnished with a bed, kitchenette, washer and a living room area and was spacious. I liked that the living room area was separated from the main bedroom. Skai could work on his laptop with the lights on in the living room while I could have the room dim to pat Aidan to sleep.

We checked in on a weekend and we decided to make full use of the facilities. We first went to the nearby supermarket and shopped for ingredients to prepare for dinner and also prepare Aidan's meals.

We also made full use of the facilities. Skai went for a jog in their fitness centre and we also brought Aidan for a dip in their indoor pool.
