The kind folks from Kiehl's invited Fidelis and I to a night out at The Refinery.
Last year, Skai aka c(hubby) and I were invited to a Somersby event at Crab in da Bag at Big Splash. It was our first time trying out such Cajun styled seafood and we had really enjoyed ourselves.
Thus when Food News and Crab in da Bag invited both #nadskai and #leonfidel for a tasting at Crab in da Bag at their newest outlet Singapore Sports Hub, we were extremely excited! Needless to say, we said yes
The new venue at Singapore Sports Hub boasts a scenic waterfront view of the skyline of Tanjong Rhu.
The kind folks from Watsons invited Fidelis and I to Watsons Day Out last month to check out the latest beauty and healthcare products preview!
Some of the brands that we managed to talk to were:
I've got some exciting news to share! For Milly's Hair Lashes Nails fans, you'll be stoked to find out that Milly's is now open at Suntec City! This will be the 5th Milly's outlet!
I'm not sure if any of you guys may remember this... in 2010, I started this #mysterymakan tradition with Jacelyn, Esther and Fidelis. Each of us would take turns planning makan outings and would only reveal the address on the day itself with no other details. With the Mystery Makan tradition, we visited new places and tried new food! It’s really fun and we all look forward to our Mystery Makan sessions.
This time, it was MY time to organise the Mystery Makan session! Personally, I always search for nice themed cafes to showcase in this Singapore Lifestyle Blog but this time I wanted to try something else!
As some of you guys may know, I am a huge fan of omakase. The two that I've tried so far, was amazing! The first was Standing Sushi Bar's omakase back in 2009 and the other was Teppei Restaurant omakase when Skai aka c(hubby) brought me for my birthday.
Needless to say, after my extraordinary experience at Teppei, I was searching for other omakases to try.
However for Mystery Makan, I decided to search for more economical and budget friendly options for my dining companions and I. While doing a search for affordable omakase in Singapore, I found out Sushi Kou Omakase from some reviews from fellow Singapore Food Bloggers.
So I told the girls that our Mystery Makan was at Orchid Hotel and they were surprised to find out that we were going to have omakase!
For those who have yet to try omakase, here's a quick explanation of omakase. Basically it means "I'll leave it up to you." where the dining customers do not know what to expect from the Chef. The chef will prepare dishes according to his preference and seasonal dishes and the dining customers enjoy a surprising good time.
Isn't omakase the perfect Mystery Makan venue?
Actually Sushi Kou is just located a few doors down from my favourite Teppei Restaurant in Orchid Hotel. Am extremely jealous of the people working in Tanjong Pagar! There are so much good food at Orchid Hotel!
The ambience at Sushi Kou is definitely different from the old Standing Sushi Bar and Teppei Restaurant. The restaurant is more spacious but it's definitely a very different experience as compared to Teppei.
The girls and I chose the $50 menu and these were the dishes that were served that day.
