As some of you guys may know, I have a regular hairstylist Caely Tham. She has taken care of my hair for about 4 years now and I'm very comfortable with her. Especially so when she had to deal with my weird hair during pregnancy and postnatal hair loss.

FYI, mums go thru lots of hair changes during and after pregnancy. The texture and condition all changes. Caely has been wonderful throughout and has taken good care of my hair.

When she first told me that she was moving to Leekaja Beauty Salon, I was relieved to find out that it was located nearby. (I was so scared that she will move to ulu pandan or something! HHAHA)

Leekaja Beauty Salon is conveniently located at Mandarin Gallery, a stone's throw away from Caely's previous salon.

Leekaja Beauty Salon

I was wowed when I first arrived at Leekaja. It was HUGE. Leekaja is much bigger than most salons that I have visited and they offer a wide range of beauty services thus the name Leekaja Beauty Salon. It is basically a Korean one-stop beauty solution salon.

Some of the services that they provide are hairstyling, nail, eyelash, makeup and barber services. But fret not, their prices are very competitive!

Leekaja Beauty Salon

I felt very pampered when I arrived at Leekaja. I was offered a light snack and refreshment just incase I was peckish and thirsty.

I was quite shy to see Caely as it had been quite some time since I visited her. My hair was a mess and I hadn't taken care of my roots as regular as I should.

Leekaja Beauty Salon

At that time I was also in the early stages of my pregnancy. I whispered to Caely and after all the congratulations and hugs, she whisked me away to a private area away from all the chemical smells.

We discussed options and decided to go for a healthier hair colour without touching my roots alongside the Tokio Inkarami Hair Treatment to tame my very unruly hair.

Caely shared that the Tokio Inkarami Hair Treatment helps to restore damaged hair to healthy hair by an amazing hair repair strength of up to 140%! The treatment has also a Nobel Prize Ingredient called Fullerene which is the world's strongest anti-oxidant to fight aging and humidity!

The Tokio Inkarami Hair Treatment consists of a few steps to help increase the supply of keratin, to make the hair stronger and also increases the supply of CMC & Ceramide 2 to help regain silkyness and shine and lastly to help repair the hair cuticles.

I also brought home the Tokio IE Home Care products which helps to increase keratin protein buildup in my hair while protecting my cuticle from external stresses and improves muster and smoothness.

Even after bleaching my hair so often, my hair is strong and healthy! All thanks to the wonderful hands of Caely and using the Tokio Inkarami products!

This is the final outcome after my experience at Leekaja Beauty Salon. Caely refreshed my colour without touching my roots. She gave me a lovely dark colour coupled with some bits purple and pink.

[Product Review]

As parents, Skai and I can hardly travel "handsfree" anymore. We have to pack the whole house lots of items when we travel out with Aidan.

I love my diaper bags, I really do. But there are days where we just need to carry a simpler design of bags that looks well.. more adult like. LOL.

When the kind folks from Gaston Liga backpacks decided to hook Skai and I up with some sweet bags, we were excited! To be exact, Skai was EXTREMELY excited. He wasn't a huge fan of my big pink and girlish diaper bag and he would rather pick something more versatile.

Here's Skai's backpack of choice.

He chose the Classic Black Black backpack. He loves how simple and classy it was. And when we are not with Aidan, he also carries this bag for work/outings.

While the backpack may look small, it still packs a bunch. For a typical day out with Aidan, Skai packs a changepad, diapers, wet wipes, a bagful of Aidan's toys. The essentials.

For me, I prefer something preppy. So I can look younger. HAHAHAHA.

I chose the Praper in Navy and Brown. For me, I usually pack Aidan's food and drinks e.g. his porridge, water and snacks.

Skai also looks great with this design! Definitely an unisex design and colour!

If you like Gaston Luga's backpacks as much as I do, you'll be excited to find out that I will be offering a 15% discount when you use my promo code nadnut15!

Do take note that it was ALWAYS free shipping with 20% off as tax rebate (for orders from non-EU country) AND 15% off when you use my promo code.

I had the opportunity to experience a stay at Oasia Residences a few months ago. This entry came pretty late as most of you guys may realise, I have cut down on blogging these days. Mom life hitting me hard. Working AND mom life hitting me hard. 😮

Before I start this review, I would like to state upfront that I'm not obligated to write this review. This is of my own personal opinions.

Also that Oasia Residence is intended business and leisure travellers planning for longer stays in Singapore. Typically for at least a 7 nights stay.

Oasia Residence is a serviced apartment located in the western side of Singapore, specifically the West Coast area. The residence offers 140 studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments, well-ventilated spaces, coastal views and a suite of wellness offerings to help guests journey well during their stay.

Oasia Residence has 140 studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments. They also have ppen-air spaces in the residence surrounded by scenic views and coastal breezes provide a calming retreat to Refresh the mind and senses. They also have a suite of wellness offerings and recreational enclaves at their doorstep including a fitness centre, a tennis court and a swimming pool set in a tranquil environment. The room was comfortably furnished with a bed, kitchenette, washer and a living room area and was spacious. I liked that the living room area was separated from the main bedroom. Skai could work on his laptop with the lights on in the living room while I could have the room dim to pat Aidan to sleep.

We checked in on a weekend and we decided to make full use of the facilities. We first went to the nearby supermarket and shopped for ingredients to prepare for dinner and also prepare Aidan's meals.

We also made full use of the facilities. Skai went for a jog in their fitness centre and we also brought Aidan for a dip in their indoor pool.

[Sponsored Advertorial]

When I was pregnant, I had a few scares. It wasn't an easy pregnancy. The one thing I remembered very strongly from what my gynae said was.. "You'll never stop worrying as a parent."

And that stuck throughout with me.

I was worried during my pregnancy. I was worried when giving birth. I was worried when I didn't have any milk and was struggling to latch him. I was worried when he first flipped and slept on his belly. I actually stared to make sure he didn't suffocate himself. LOL.

Untitled

I was worried when he first puked. I was worried when he first fell off the bed. And pretty much cried as I felt like a bad mom. I was worried when he first had eczema. I was worried when he first had a mosquito bite. Feared and googled for signs of dengue.

Untitled

I was worried about hand, food and mouth disease and pretty much sterilised every baby chair we used. I was worried when he first had a fever from his vaccination. I was worried for every single bump and bruise he has.

I was worried whenever he has a cold or a cough. Last weekend, he fell sick. He had a fever and a drippy nose. I was worried for every single hour he was crying.

Untitled

I will never stop worrying because that's how we, as parents are built to function. We will continue to worry for every single day. Even when he grows big, when he starts school, when he first goes out on a date, when he first goes to school alone. It is just how we are built. As parents, we will never stop worrying.

Untitled

We can never ever be prepared. No matter how much we can prevent and prepare ourselves, shit happens. Like I mentioned, I always sterilise every single baby chair that I use outside. I hardly let Aidan around anyone who is sick. If a friend's baby is sick, I would not even meet my friend incase she passes something to me and then me to Aidan.

I breastfeed Aidan for a very selfish reason - for his immune system. And of course for that bond we have while latching.

I am THAT kiasu mum who tries her best to prevent and protect Aidan. Right after I gave birth, I called my insurance agent to come visit me at the hospital to sign some policies for Aidan.

While I can never prepare enough for him, I'll try my hardest to protect him for the future. As best as I can.

Health care costs have increased over the years. Did you know that based on a research study from the Life Insurance Association, an average working Singaporean would require at least S$626,000 to meet their Protection Needs? o.O.

Together with Tokio Marine, I would like to introduce you to two insurance products to help prepare us and protect parents like us.

Tokio Marine (TM) Term Assure

This is mainly to protect parents like you and me. It is a basic and affordable term plan that provides significant lump sum payout upon death, terminal illness and permanent disability. If you are between the ages of 25 to 35, you can have half a million dollar coverage with a 5 year plan for less than $1 a day!

Once you are covered under TM Term Assure, you can opt to add on KidAssure GIO Rider, a rider that provides protection to your kids.

Untitled

KidAssure GIO Rider

This covers up to 24 medical and hospitalisation conditions such as Severe Asthma, Leukaemia, Severe Autism, Burn, Choking, Dengue Fever, HFMD, Measles, Pulmonary Tuberculosis, Rabies and even Zika.

What makes this rather interesting is that you'll only need to pay premiums for 5 years and coverage will be up till your kid is 19 years old. At the end of term, you'll get 80% back of the total annual premiums paid for the rider! It costs as low as S$1 per day for a ride sum assured of S$50,000 and it is a guaranteed acceptance rider, without any medical underwriting needed.

Here's an example:

If you purchase KidAssure GIO Rider for your 6 year old son, the annual premium will be S$350 for a rider sum assured of S$50,000. You'll pay for 5 years which is equivalent to S$1,750. When your son reaches 19 years old, you'll be refunded S$1,400.

Sounds good? It does to me! If you'll like to find out more about these products, do visit Baby World 2017 from 30 June - 2 July at Suntec City Exhibition Level 4 from 11am to 8pm as there will be a Tokio Marine booth (K15)! There will be fun and games too!

You've probably read and seen my previous posts with Ashley Low Photography. After a great experience with them, they were my top choice when I was looking to do another photoshoot.

Needless to say, I wanted to celebrate the special moment of Aidan turning 1! I love the whole concept of a Cake Smash Photoshoot thus I really wanted to do one!
I discussed this with Ashley on the concept and she suggested a blue theme! Which was perfect cos that was one of our favourite colours! Well, mine.

I also requested for something simpler like buntings or poms and Ashley totally nailed it with the background prepared! She also prepared the cutest cake ever!

Unfortunately the star of the show was feeling a bit cranky that day and refused to touch the cake. Really gotta love how patient the photographer was and Aidan soon warmed up!
