As some of you guys may know, I got pregnant last year and gave birth early this year. After giving birth, I was horrified when I saw the increase in my hair fall. Apparently I was not immune to the dreaded postnatal hair loss. I checked with my fellow mummy group and most of them also faced postnatal hair loss, even the youngest which is years younger than me! All of us mamas of all ages were not spared!

I realised that after giving birth, due to stress, hormonal changes, us women are prone to hair loss. During this very sad period, we tend to 'shed' hair and suffer from weak hair roots. It takes months and even years for some to get over the postnatal hair loss stage.

I was happy to be introduced to Plantur 21 which is part of the Dr. Wolff Group, a fourth-generation Germany family business specialising in research, development and marketing of highly innovative cosmetic and pharmaceutical products with more than 80 years of experience with dermatology and galenic formula.

Plantur 21 is exclusively directed at young women between ages of 21 and 39. The products help solve problems that naturally occur during this stage of life due to stressful life situations such as stress or nutritional deficiencies (i.e. not health disorders).

The Plantur 21 shampoo provides an effective solution for weak hair roots and helps combat poor hair growth.

I heard from the Plantur21 folks that if their products are used regularly, the Nutri- Caffeine Complex gives hair roots the energy boosts that they desperately lack of. Plantur 21 Caffeine supports the energy supply and helps to reduce hair loss. In addition, the valuable micronutrients biotin, magnesium, calcium and zinc support the supply of the hair roots.

I've started using the Plantur 21 shampoo ($18.90) daily hoping that it ensures enough sufficient energy supply to the hair roots. All it takes is a 2 minutes application on the scalp for the Nutri-caffeine complex to help penetrate the hair roots after that a rinse off. It is safe to be used during pregnancy too!

I also liked that the shampoo does not contain any silicones which tends to weigh down the hair, which was perfect for my fine hair!

Both the shampoo and conditioner picked for me were especially used for dull, colour-treated and stressed hair like mine!

The Plantur 21 Nutri-conditioner ($12.90), like the shampoo was pleasant smelling and easy to use. There was no oily nor greasy residue after washing off.

The Plantur 21 Nutri-Caffeine Elixir ($19.90) is a scalp tonic that helps to combats poor hair growth by helping to speed up the process of normalisation of hair growth cycle and strengthening hair growth. Currently I'm using it day and night.

I guess one mistake that I made previously was not using any hair loss products earlier. I should have prevented hair loss by using products such as Plantur 21 to help prevent hair loss.

In the meantime, I'll continue Plantur21! Will be trying it for a longer period and will update you guys on how it goes!

If you'll like to check out the Plantur21 range, it is available in Guardian, selected Watsons, Unity, NTUC FairPrice, Cold Storage, Giant NHG and independent pharmacies.

It's been a while since I last traveled. I think the last trip was with BFF to Korea! Skai and I were going a bit mad staying at home honestly. Thankfully we had a Singapore Staycation at Ramada Singapore to look forward to!

Ramada Singapore is a business hotel conveniently located at Balestier, home of good food! Seriously, it's so easy to find food in Balestier. Yummy bak kut teh, chicken rice and hawker face are all located nearby.

As mentioned, Ramada is a business home. Rooms are kept clean, fuss-free. Pretty straightforward without much frills.

So we improvised and used the bathtub instead. Heh.

Overall, it was a comfortable and fuss-free staycation. It's pretty straightforward and simple. I think it was great for us as we were interested in exploring the makan areas around Balestier too.

Thank you Ramada Singapore for hosting us! While this staycation was hosted, no coverage was necessary.

If you would like to check out the hotel, here are the details. By the way, they have a kickass buffet selection, you should totally check them out!

As a parent, I try my best to source and search for products that contains as little chemicals and are more natural as possible for my baby. Also coupled with the fact that Aidan has eczema makes me more cautious of most products.

When I was introduced to ecostore, I was intrigued by the fact that this New Zealand brand produces healthier and safer products for people by using plant and mineral based ingredients. They also shared that some of their customers' eczema, dermatitis and other allergies had actually improved (and some even totally disappeared!) after using ecostore products!

Aside from that, ecostore products use only sustainably sourced ingredients that are not only safe and kind to us, but also kinder to planet earth! Personally, I like the fact that their products do not contain harsh chemicals and harmful ingredients! Good for me, baby, everybody and the environment! Sounds like a win-win situation! I love the whole concept of supporting the environment in a very easy and fuss-free manner.

ecostore has recently launched their baby care range which is marketed as helping babies get the best start in life with plant-based products that we can trust. One of the reasons it's so important to take extra care is that babies are more vulnerable to the harmful effects of the chemicals used in products as their skin is thinner than an adult’s, and the protective barrier of their skin is still not fully developed.

The ecostore products that I received were the:

IMG_1729

ecostore baby shampoo: A nourishing shampoo to gently cleanse baby's fine hair and sensitive scalp, retaining the moisture and leaving it soft, shiny and protected. The baby shampoo contains a delicate blend of lavender and geranium oils for a beautifully soft, clean fragrance.

IMG_1728

ecostore baby body wash: Gently cleanse and condition baby's skin with the body wash – a mild alternative to soap. The plant-based ingredients used in the baby body wash match the oils and amino acids found naturally in babies’ skin.
IMG_1727

ecostore baby sleepy time bath: A soothing plant-based infusion with a gentle blend of lavender and geranium oils to add to baby's bath water to get them ready to sleep!

IMG_1726

ecostore baby moisturiser: Softens and conditions baby's skin, protecting them from dryness and irritation. With a soft natural fragrance of lavender and geranium. To be massaged onto baby's skin after their bath to help prevent dryness with its nourishing blend of olive, jojoba and coconut oils in a shea butter base.

We used the products recently while bathing Aidan!

IMG_1749

As we were preparing for his bedtime, we used the ecostore baby sleepy time bath. Simply squirt a small amount will do!

IMG_1760

IMG_1761

Also shampooed his hair and used the body wash on him.

IMG_1764

And finally we used the moisturiser!

I like the scent of their products honestly. Very soothing and sweet smelling. Aside from that, it feels good using products that are good for Aidan and the environment.

And what does Aidan think about the products?

IMG_1774

I think he thinks they’re delicious. HAHHAA.

Oh my. Time has passed way too fast! Aidan is now 8 months old!

IMG_1621

Here are some updates and milestones that Aidan has gone thru!

  • Aidan has went for his first swim trial! He seems pretty indifferent to the whole experience. Not scared nor was he excited. LOL. I should totally blog about his previous Babyspa experiences soon!
  • Aidan can stand assisted easily now. He is also very comfortable sitting up.
  • Feeding isn't easy for him though. We are currently practicing baby led weaning but he doesn't take much food.
  • He is very sticky to us now. Whenever we walk away, he cries badly. Also, when we put him in his cot (we now try not to co-sleep since he is able to flip easily. I MISS CO-SLEEPING!), he wails!
  • He still has eczema, especially on his left cheek. Tried numerous creams and met PDs before too. Nothing seems to work.
  • He is teething, we see the slightest hint of his bottom two teeth. He also tends to bite everything now.
  • He is still an exclusively breastfed baby. My supply is dropping but I'm trying my best to keep it going. Thank god I squirrelled a considerable stash of milk away like a little squirrel going for winter.
  • Maybe because he is teething, he tends to latch a lot. Our little fella is very domineering now, he pushes me down and climbs on top of me to latch. LOL.
  • He shares the sweetest smiles when we come back to him. <3
  • Currently he has started babbling, in an attempt to talk. He says ababababa and dada now.

Happy 8 months old my love. Every day with you is a blessing.

As some of you guys may know, Aidan is exclusively breastfed. And for us breastfeeding mamas, be it low supply or oversupply, any wastage is painful.

There are days where our babies may drink lesser than normal which will result in wastage of breastmilk. Most would chuck it away.

For me, I really bu shi de to throw. So I save the leftover milk. I've sent my expired milk to made into breastmilk charms and also into breastmilk soap. But there is always wastage accumulating.

Once in a few weeks, I would prepare milk bath for baby Aidan using the expired milk.

Untitled

I would fill about 450ml and dilute with warm water. Reason being, Aidan usually takes baths in this bath tub. I've seen other mamas not dilute their baths with water but I've yet to try that.

Untitled

Take note that there is usually a very strong fishy/metallic smell especially with frozen breastmilk.

Untitled

Untitled

But it's worth it! I personally feel and noticed that Aidan's skin is more radiant and softer after each bath. But of course, it doesn't last forever lah. You'll need to constantly bathe in breastmilk.

So mamas with expiring breastmilk, don't chuck it away! Use it for breastmilk baths!
