For those who kept bugging me for sneak peeks... here you go!
After the long day, we finally checked into our hotel. I chose to stay at Ibis Seoul Ambassador instead of other cheaper hotels like Tria because months before, I had traveled to Korea for work and stayed at Ibis Seoul Ambassador.
I was pretty used to the area around there and thought it would be suitable to stay back there.
We ended the day pretty late and was extremely starving. It was about 9-10pm then and the last meal we had was about 11am? We settled for a barbeque place near our hotel which wasn't cheap. Because we stayed at Gangnam area, things there were a bit pricier than usual.
We ordered a few beef dishes, from wagyu to normal sliced to steak tartare. As with Korean bbq, it came along with an assortment of side dishes.
In the end, we spent close to 200 bucks but it was well worth it. The owner even cooked for us! Not only that, I had accidentally left behind my camera and she hurried after us to return it to me.
Great service, great food. I miss Korea's food. The c(hubby) was super duper in love with their food. He is a HUGE fan of beef and it was pure heaven for him. If you do visit Korea, do remember to try their Korean bbq. Super shiok!

As some of you guys may know, I signed up for a wedding photoshoot in Korea. Reason being, none of my friends has went to Korea before and I thought it was rather different as compared to the other photoshoots!
Yes, of course, I rather go France, Greece etc but I'll save those places for my honeymoon. I was actually quite interested in Taiwan at first till we heard about the Korea shoot. Yes, the Korea shoot is almost twice the price but I like fact that all pictures will be given to me. No need stress about adding photos and incurring more moolah.
However, the rationale decision would have been to take the photoshoot in Singapore or JB and have the AD package involved but well, I didn't want to scrimp on things like this.
Just enjoy lah! But of course, both of us paid and saved enough. Here, I really have to say that my hubby was really easygoing. While most guys would have balked at the amount of money, he not only agreed but also paid an active role in researching.
I need not had to beg, blackmail, psycho or teh. I just stated the pros and cons to him and he chose Korea. <3 Thank you baby for being so accommodating!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mushy tender words aside, let's talk about my shoot instead! heh!
So the deal about the shoot was to have a makeup and hair discussion and afterwards to the bridal shop to try on gowns. There was no trial unlike the Singapore studios. They would alter the gowns if need be and it'll be ready by the 3rd day!
Remember our long ass flight that lasted 12 hours? We had wanted to have the discussion and gowns selection on day 2 instead however the schedule was full. Thus we had to do everything that day.
BAD IDEA. ZOMBIEFIED US. PLUS FLIGHT DELAY. WE HAD TO MAKE EVERYONE WAIT.
Never have it on day one especially after a long flight.
We were picked up by our lovely Korean coordinator who would also be our translator. She drove us to the hair and makeup shop. As mentioned in the above, there was no trial. We discussed my looks. While the typical Korean wedding makeup look was simple and clean, I asked if she could emphasize a bit more on my eyes. Hairdowise, I asked to start off with a half updo look with slight curls.
We only had 1 makeup look and 1 hairstyle set at the salon. What would happen is that another coordinator would help touch up my makeup and make simple changes to my hair. Yet again, a far cry from those Taiwanese shoots that had thick makeup and a lot of hairstyles. Honestly, my style would have been more suitable for the thick makeup and 101 hairdos but let's try something different! (Plus, I didn't want to face the hardsell.)
The hubby also made his requests for hairstyle. As his hair is quite short due to work, his options was quite limited. Hurhur. The discussion took about an hour? We then headed off to the bridal shop.
We were greeted by the lovely owner cum designer of the shop. She first showed me some designs via her iPad and I told her what type of gowns I like. For my shoot, I was entitled to 2 white gowns, 1 coloured gown and 1 mini gown while the c(hubby) was entitled to two jackets.
My coordinator (seated beside me) recommended I choose two very different gowns. 1 being the fluffy poofy gown that I always wanted and the other a slimmer cutting gown. I shared with the owner that I wanted super poofy ones, preferably with a sweetheart neckline and she brought out the following gowns to try.
Also some slim cutting gowns.
And some coloured gowns.
Also to try out with the variety of shoes available.
I loved the whole trying out process. First they will help you put on the gown, pin it up, make sure the gown looks good, pass you a bouquet in your hands and... unveil you to your partner.
A gown that I did not choose.
I mean, I really felt like a princess lah. They even had that little 'tadah' before unveiling me to the hubs. *blushes*
The hubby also had a fun time trying out the jackets. They had so many vests, bowties, and other accessories and it was amazing how different he looked.
Presenting... the great gatsby!
We loved this combi but turns out he didn't wear this. HAHAHA. Missed it out in the end. Couldn't get over how dashing he looked.
It was a fun experience! I mean I loved everything. I could do another photoshoot ANYTIME. hehehe.
Will blog about the shoot and other fun places to visit in Korea next time. Check it out soon!
