The best thing about a birthday? Is being treated like a princess, great company and of course... the lovely gifts!
As you can guess from the title, I was gifted a lot of books! First up, the kind Elrica passed me two lovely Moleskin notebooks for my birthday!
While the ruled notebook is something rather common and well used amongst most people my age, it was the Wellness Journal that got me really excited!
Elrica knew that I was on my low carb diet while maintaining my weight and she really gave me such a thoughtful gift!
The Wellness Journal has tabs to jot down my diet, my exercise routine, inspirations etc. It even have a chart to measure calories of food! I have just started using it, super useful! Will share more pics when my journal is more filled up!
The kind folks at Nuffnang and Jipaban sent me a huge parcel of books! They remembered that I mentioned that I was a big bookworm in the past and they sent me a variety of books! I LOVE paperbacks! The smell of the book, the flipping of the pages... is really different from e-books. I wished that I have enough space to have more paperbacks than e-books!
I'll be starting on these books soon! Thanks guys! <3 For those who are interested, Jipaban also sells books! Check out their books here!
How about you? Do you prefer paperbacks or e-books? Tell me why!
Last week, the kind folks at 7-Eleven invited some of us bloggers for a fun free and easy makan session while sharing with us their latest promotion!
As a HUGE fan of Tokidoki, I was extremely excited to find out that Hello Kitty have collaborated with Tokidoki for a fun promotion in 7-Eleven! They've launched 10 lovely Hello Kitty x Tokidoki collectible figurines!
In a bid to get the Ching Chong Hubby to be more involved in my blog, I have asked him to start blogging on www.nadnut.com
Needless to say, he was very hesitant as he has never blogged before. But the one thing that sets aside Ching Chong Hubby apart from other boyfriends or husbands is that he is one of the most supportive partner ever. He is always game to attend events with me be it to listening to product reviews or even cooking classes or basically mundane stuff to him. Yes of course, he loves the usual food and travel events. He is a bigger foodie than me! Honestly speaking, he is harder to please when it comes to food and drinks. LOL.
Not only does he attend events for me, he has always assumed the photographer roles when it comes to these events. I can always trust him to take pictures while I talk to the PR people or toy around with the products.
And now.... jeng jeng! He will be helping to review certain stuff! The reason why I tweaked www.nadnut.com to be a lifestyle blog instead of specialising in food or beauty is that I wish to document as much as possible of my life. With my new married life, I hope to work on www.nadnut.com together with him.
And what better way but to start it off with reviewing tech items first? He well, wrote a paragraph and I added some thoughts of my own! So here's our very first review together!
Spotted this Enjoy 71 7" tablet during the recent IT show newly launched by MSI.
Like most of the other android device, it runs on the Android 4.0 ICS(Ice Cream Sandwich). It is one of the few that has IPS capacitive multi-touch (5 points) panel, running on 1.5GHz dual core processor with Mali-400 graphics, microSD card slot and has mini-HDMI connecting the tablet to larger external display for better viewing experience, something different from other 7" tablets.
The greatest advantage for this Enjoy 71 is the attractive price tag($199) which is lower than other 7" tablets, but relatively has the same features and specifications.
This thin, light weight (299 grams) and sleek peacock blue metal finishing wins me over other brands. Now i can just slip this into nadnut's bag without her grumbling about the heaviness compared to my current 10" bulky tablet!
nadnut adds: I tried using his tablet and I thought it was really light and relatively easy to use. As someone who has never used Android in her whole life, I thought it was easy to navigate. It was also really smooth navigating it and I think for the price he paid, it was really value for money. FYI, the hubby LOVES Android. So to him, bigger screen, cheap, Android = YAY YAY YAY. Crazy fella been addicted to Candy Crush and plays nonstop on his new tablet. Pfft.
I hope this will not be the first and last review from him :p Hope to do more! Perhaps I should have a new category for his reviews? And new banners? We'll see! Any comments? (COMMENT ASKING HIM TO WRITE MORE! HE IS SO SHY ABOUT HIS WRITING!)
Remember my previous blog post? My colour had faded nicely to a light brown and I finally went to meet Caely to Shunji Matsuo 313 for a much needed touchup!
Caely as always, worked magic on my hair. I requested for a much darker colour and she suggested a combination of the hot pink I had previously with red-violet.
For those who are wondering, Caely used PK @all and RV @all from Goldwell which is a colour treatment that does not contain ammonia at all! Caely mentioned that this colour treatment would not be as harsh on my hair as other colours would and it would still be very vibrant without resorting to extreme bleaching!
And as always, Caely nails it! I LOVE THIS COLOUR! I know I said it previously for my previous colour but I love this more! It's like everytime, I am extremely satisfied with whatever Caely conjours for my hair and yet she surprises me for every appointment! Major love!
The effect turned out to resemble ombre when in actual fact, it's dipdye! The outer layers are dyed a hot pink while the inner layers are dyed red-violet!
It looks dark in some angles!
I can't get over the fact how soft it looks! For those who were wondering, the prelighting costs about $75 onwards and the partial elumen colour was an additional S$139!
If you’ll like to try Ombre, Dipdye or any other services, i highly recommend Caely Tham. Do book an appointment with her! She’s friendly, easy on the eyes (hehe!) and very creative!
If you’ll like to visit Shunji Matsuo 313, do try them out! Enjoy a 10% discount off chemical services when you quote my name/nick to them!
Btw I’m currently using NuffnangX! Follow me here! Download NuffnangX (available on iPhone and Android) and follow “nadnut”! You’ll get updates as soon as I blog and you can leave comments easily there!
